
The Feast Day of Sant’Erasmo and San Giovanni Battista
The patron saints of the town of Formia are Sant’Erasmo and San Giovanni Battista. The feast day of Saint Erasmo is celebrated on the 2nd June and the feast day of San Giovanni is celebrated on the 24th June. The statues of the saints are carried in religious processions throughout the many disticts of the Formia. There is also music, entertainmenet and firework displays.

The Procession of Boats in the Harbour
During the processions the statues of the saints are carried onto a boat and sailed around the harbour.

Fireworks
At the end of the celebrations there is always a spectacular firework display set off from the harbour.
